Things to do while in Huntington, UT
Huntington State Park & Reservoir
A few minutes from town, Huntington State Park is where locals head to fish, boat, or just hang out by the water. The reservoir sits right against the red rock hills, so even a quick stroll through the area offers incredible views and photo opportunities. It’s small, quiet, and easy to get to. We highly recommend checking it out while you’re here in the area.
Huntington Canyon Scenic Byway
If you drive east out of town, you’ll end up on one of the prettiest roads in central Utah. The Huntington Canyon Scenic Byway winds up through red rock and into pine forest, climbing up into cooler temps and to where the views stretch for miles. You’ll pass campgrounds, lakes, and trail pull-offs the whole way up which make for perfect little pit stops along the route.
Arapeen OHV Trail System
You don’t have to go far to hit the trails here. Huntington connects straight into the Arapeen OHV network, which runs for hundreds of miles through the mountains and desert. People come from all over to ride a quick afternoon loop or a full-day if you’ve got the gas for it.
Ponderosa Grill
When you’re done running around the Swell or checking out the scenic byways in the area, head to the Ponderosa Grill for a solid meal and some local flavor. The portions are big, the service is friendly, and if you’re lucky, you’ll catch a slice of homemade pie before it’s gone.
